Welcome to The Unofficial Bulletin Board of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 2. Predict The Score: New Orleans at Tampa Bay, 15 September 2013
Posted 08 September 2013 - 04:07 PM
Welcome back to week 2 of our exciting season of Predict The Score. After a game of up down and sideways ending in a heartbreaker, the Bucs come home to a new hope-- a divisional game against the Saints, who owned their own house in beating the Falcons, or so they reported on the sports feed during the Bucs game.
First things first, congratulations again to Yuckaneers, week 1 champ for a pessimistic but ultimately realistic prediction of 19-16 Jets with the actual score a tighter 18-17. Yuckaneers now has a 1 in 16 chance of being Predictor of the Year, but there's a lot of football to go, including of course this week's game.
For those who are new to this, the rules for this season's contest are included in post 1 of last week's thread, http://www.bbs.tbayb...september-2013/ ,
but they boil down to this: You gotta predict a score, then within the House rules you can post about just about anything else you like.
So, here we go.
For week 2, we're hosting the Saints, the media darlins of the NFC South. No matter what happens to or around them they're always going to be the networks' fav in any divisional rivalry game, partly because they usually win the games they're supposed to win (cough, cough).
I'm sure they'll be heavy favorites coming into Ray Jay too.
But you know what, I got a hunch, hopefully better than the one last week, that the Bucs are gonna pull this one out in a squeaker.
So, Here's my completely homerlike prediction for this week:
Tampa Bay 26
New Orleans 24

we win 27-24
Freeman is the new Gruden. He will never hit rock bottom. He will always win just enough and win the occasional big game, to keep is job and keep us mediocre.
wow, someone quoted the same exact score as you while you were posting. Care to modify it for your chance at the kudos or do you want to share the credit when you two hit it straight?

Bucs win 31-28 thanks to Nicks coming back from injury and Harltey missing a last second FG 2009 style (We all can dream right )

The Bucs will find a way to score negative points against the Saints.
Our defense will play well for the first half, but after being on the field for 3 straight quarters, they will eventually give way.
Saints by murder
Just so you know, it is legal to choose a negative score for one team in a contest... murder however is not very quantitative, however definitive it may feel upon reaching the game's end.
